Patrick Dunn: News

Another Patrick Dunn and The Coyote practice video..."Lady In Red" - July 1, 2008

Check out this video from Patrick Dunn and The Coyote band practice of the new song, "Election Day Blues" - June 22, 2008

Election Day Blues from Chris Loughran on Vimeo.
Some fun facts about this video:
-We were practicing mid-day in Matthew's attic during a massive heat wave. We're talking 100 degrees+ outside.
-I didn't have anything to sing through other than an old guitar amp, but I think it sounds even better that way
-Chris shot and edited the video, but still only his bass and right arm make it into view
-My sister was there sketching

New Blog - February 25, 2008

So I started a new blog at http://dirtfloordunn.blogspot.com. It's more my thoughts on the music industry and chronicles of experiences in it for now.

We'll see how it develops.

THE BIG MOVE - January 3, 2008

Happy 2008! The new year brings some new changes in my life. I am in the middle of transitioning back to NY from my almost 2 years in Boston, so look for more NY-area bookings in the near future. But Boston, I will keep coming back to play shows with the band. We already have some Feb and March shows booked, so watch the calendar.

2007 was probably the best year I've seen yet, and I'm all set to top in 2008! Hope everyone is well. See you soon,

DirtFloor Record Label Party & Charity Benefit - December 5, 2007

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DIRTFLOOR RECORDS: WE ARE THE ARTISTS, THIS IS OUR PARTY!
Artist-run label kicks off with a charity bash at the
Paradise Lounge

DEC. 6, 2007 (BOSTON, MA) -- The new DirtFloor Records, an
artist-run record label, will host its first major event,
benefiting the American Liver Foundation's Run for Research
Marathon Team. The event on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 9p.m. will
be held at the Paradise Lounge in Boston, and will serve as
the label's public launch party. The party will feature
performances by the current DirtFloor roster in both solo
and band sets.

DirtFloor Records is comprised of Patrick Dunn, Eric
Lichter, Sandra Lichter, Jeremy Lichter, Brendan Murphy,
and Bryan Pero. These six songwriters span the entire
Northeast corridor of the United States, ranging from New
York City, through Connecticut and Boston, and up to New
Hampshire. It is the goal of the label to define a
regional sound, one that focuses on the roots of rock,
folk, and country, while embracing a more independent-
sounding future. "Defining your sound is like defining a
feeling," said Dunn. "You can call it what you want, but
it really just needs to be experienced."

The label itself is a departure from typical record label
models. Instead of answering to higher-ups and department
heads, DirtFloor is run by its founding artists. In this
way, the label is more of a musical family than a financial
figurehead. In fact, the founding artists met through
recording sessions at the Connecticut studio owned and
operated by the Lichters.

The charity that the party is benefiting, The Run for
Research Team, is one of the sponsored charities for the
Boston Marathon. Last year, Dunn was one of the coaches
for the team as it prepared for the 2007 Marathon. "This
is the start of their training season, so it's nice for
them to have something like this to celebrate it," Dunn
said.

Tickets for the DirtFloor Record Label Party at the
Paradise Lounge (969 Commonwealth Ave. Boston, MA 02215)
are $10, and can be purchased in advance online at the
Paradise's website: www.thedise.com. To hear DirtFloor in
action, go to www.myspace.com/dirtfloorrecords

PD at Willie Nelson/Merle Haggard/Ray Price - September 6, 2007

Two nights ago, John, Matthew, and I had the pleasure of playing the Bank of America VIP tent for the "Last of the Breed" Tour, featuring Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Ray Price. We had a great time playing, and an even better time watching these absolute legends perform. At 81 years of age, Ray's voice is still one of the sweetest things you could ever hear. And Merle and Willie both kicked ass. I can't get over how solid their guitar playing still is.
Bottom line, it was an amazing show to see. If you get a chance, check it out.

In other news, I am working on some Fall booking as we speak, so your chance to hear the band in action is coming soon!

The New Band - September 3, 2007

So I've finally decided to put together a band for the live shows. I'll still play some solo shows here and there, but the band will be backing me up more and more over the next few months. I am pleased to announce:

Matthew Belyea: drums

John Kingsley: pedal steel/fiddle

And my very own brother,
Bryan Dunn: keys
The bass playing member has yet to be decided, so watch out for that info soon.
